He is Associate Professor at the University of Aizu for more than 10 years. His research focuses on sound and audio, with particular interests in spatial audio, virtual reality (VR), and applied psychoacoustics and applied phonetics.

Originally from Colombia, he completed his B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering at the University of Valle in Cali, Colombia, and obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Aizu in Japan where he is currently residing.
