About the Conference

VVG'05 is the second event in a series promoting high-quality, interdisciplinary research on computer vision, computer graphics and video engineering. The convergence of these disciplines keeps attracting new interest from both academy and industry, and generating exciting applications in the fields of communications (immersive videoconferencing, adaptive scalable image coding), entertainment (video and film production, post-processing, virtual studios), interactive visualisation and distributed gaming. Topics include: Image-based rendering, hybrid models and image-based methods; Automatic generation of graphics and image-based models from multiple views; Augmented- and virtual-reality collaborative environments; Representation and analysis of complex 3-D dynamic scenes; Modelling, tracking, and animating moving humans; Content-based retrieval of images and video; Automatic generation of caricatures, paintings, and video effects; Immersive communications, e.g., videoconferencing; Imaging techniques in scientific and information visualization; Media and video production, virtual studios, and film applications; Visual data mining in image/video retrieval. In cooperation with Eurographics.
